We started as four misfits with big ideas and a shared belief that animation could be more than what the world was used to seeing. Tazz, Allen, Ed, and Zach came together not because we followed the same path—but because our differences fueled creativity. What began as conversations, late nights, and bold ideas slowly evolved into something bigger: Penwood Animation Studios.

None of us fit neatly into a box. Each founder brought a different skill set, perspective, and creative instinct to the table—but we shared the same frustration with safe storytelling and formula-driven animation. We believed animation could be cinematic without losing heart, bold without losing meaning, and visually striking without sacrificing character.

Penwood was built without shortcuts or permission. We chose to learn, experiment, and push ourselves beyond traditional boundaries, combining innovation with storytelling that feels authentic and human. Our mission is simple but ambitious: to create animation that feels real—stories that connect, characters that breathe, and worlds that feel lived in.
